Indian Crime Drama 'KJQ' Scheduled for Worldwide Release on Aug 7
The period crime drama "KJQ" (King Jackie Queen), written and directed by the late KK, is set against a 1990s backdrop and features Dheekshith Shetty, Shashi Odela and Yukti Thareja in lead roles. Production house SLV Cinemas announced via its X account that the film will open worldwide on August 7. A teaser launched by Telugu star Nani introduces Shetty’s character Raju with the line, “A city and a gun are the same – they obey the one in whose hands they are.” Odela plays “Jockey,” a risk‑taking character, while Thareja appears as “Rani.” The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Nagesh Banell, composer Poornachandra Tejaswi, editor Shravan Katikaneni and production designer Srikanth Ramishetty. The release marks a celebration of KK’s work following his death last year.
