Indian diaspora holds ‘Bharat First’ gathering in Munich

Members of the Indian diaspora in Germany organized a peaceful demonstration titled ‘Bharat First’ at Rindermarkt in Munich. Organized by the group NRIs for Bharat Rise, the event brought together Indian professionals, students, and families from across Germany.

The gathering focused on supporting India’s democratic mandate and the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Participants expressed a desire to counter what they described as negative, politically motivated campaigns and anti-India narratives intended to damage the country’s international image.

During the event, attendees specifically addressed online criticism from Germany-based commentators, such as YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, asserting that such voices do not represent the broader Indian community in Europe. The organizers also sought to engage with the local German community to discuss India’s democratic institutions, economic progress, and national sovereignty.
