Indian Embassy and Consulate in UAE Roll Out Online Appointment System for Passport, Visa Services

The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai have launched a dedicated online portal (book.passportindiauae.com) that allows Indian expatriates in the United Arab Emirates to book appointments for passport, visa and document attestation services. Appointment slots run from 9 am to 1 pm, with applicants allowed to enter the premises up to 15 minutes early. Walk‑in services have been curtailed; limited walk‑ins are now only available from 9 am to 11 am at the Abu Dhabi embassy, while the Dubai consulate requires an appointment for all visits. Priority is given to newborn cases and emergency certificates. Applicants must submit fully completed forms online, upload clear photos and signatures, and pay fees in cash with exact change. The changes follow a delayed transition to a new outsourced consular application centre operated by Alhind Tours & Travels, whose contract handover was stalled by legal proceedings in India. The UAE hosts roughly 4.5 million Indian expatriates, making the missions among the world’s busiest Indian diplomatic posts.
