Indian festive fashion emphasizes handloom textiles and traditional ethnic styles

Indian fashion is seeing a shift toward the inherent beauty of handwoven textiles for the upcoming festive season. Designer Vaishali S is focusing on using traditional fabrics like chanderi, khun, jamdani, and maheshwari as the primary embellishment. Rather than adding excessive embroidery, she utilizes techniques such as cording, pleating, and sculpting to create three-dimensional, structural silhouettes that highlight the natural complexity of the weaves.

Several Indian actresses are also showcasing various traditional ethnic styles. Hina Khan has embraced a classic look with a traditional kurta set and a mang tikka. Sharvari Wagh opted for a white-and-gold Anarkali set paired with a Kundan sheeshpatti, while Mrunal Thakur wore a peachy-mauve tissue saree featuring a golden border and an ornate choker.
