Waaree Energies Q1 FY27 Profit Rises Amid Margin Pressure While Vedanta and Thermax Report Mixed Results

Waaree Energies Ltd reported a 79.2% year‑on‑year increase in revenue to ₹7,931.79 crore for Q1 FY27, and net profit grew 15.4% to ₹891.87 crore. Operating EBITDA rose 44% but the EBITDA margin fell to 18.15% from 22.53% a year earlier, prompting a 5‑6% drop in the share price. Raw‑material costs jumped 63.5% and direct exports from India fell sharply, while revenue from the company’s U.S. manufacturing operations more than doubled to ₹1,322 crore.

Vedanta Ltd posted a sequential 18% fall in consolidated net profit to ₹5,473 crore, with revenue slipping 1% quarter‑on‑quarter. The board approved the de‑merger of its real‑estate business into Vedanta Property Platforms Ltd, offering one new share for every 20 existing shares, subject to regulatory approval.

Thermax Ltd saw revenue rise 7% YoY to ₹2,303 crore, but profit after tax collapsed 85% to ₹22 crore, driven by a ₹91 crore cost overrun on an industrial‑infrastructure project and weaker export sales. The stock fell more than 16% on the day.

Timex Group India posted a 70.55% YoY jump in Q1 profit to ₹25 crore and a 29.66% rise in revenue to ₹219.45 crore, while its shares slipped about 2.2%.

Other Indian corporates also released results: Tata Steel’s Q1 net profit rose about 12% YoY; MAS Financial Services saw AUM grow 21% and PAT rise 27%; ESAF Small Finance Bank posted a ₹80 crore profit; Hyundai Motor India reported a 35.1% YoY profit decline. Collectively, the earnings season highlighted strong top‑line growth for many firms but highlighted margin pressure, cost overruns and strategic de‑mergers affecting investor sentiment.
