Indian firms Oriental Hotels and Angel One report Q1 profit declines

Mumbai – Hospitality company Oriental Hotels Limited announced a 20% fall in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY27, posting Rs 5.3 crore compared with Rs 6.6 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 3% year‑on‑year to Rs 111 crore, but the earnings drop led the shares to sink about 6% in early trading.

Fintech and broking firm Angel One Limited reported a 27.8% quarter‑on‑quarter decline in net profit for the same quarter, recording Rs 231 crore versus Rs 320 crore in the previous quarter. Revenue slipped 2.1% to Rs 1,430 crore and EBITDA fell 19% to Rs 485 crore. The company declared an interim dividend of Rs 1 per share while noting strong growth in client funding and assets under management.
