Indian Football League 2026-27 season to begin October 30
The Governing Council of the Indian Football League (IFL) and the All India Football Federation (AIFF) have confirmed that the 2026-27 season will commence on October 30, 2026. Following a meeting with representatives from all 11 participating clubs, officials noted that viewership for the previous season was four times higher than in 2024-25.
The upcoming season will feature a full home-and-away format and will expand its geographic footprint by including Nagaland and Odisha as new venues. New regulations have also been approved, allowing clubs to field a maximum of three foreign players on the pitch simultaneously during matches.
In preparation for the season, AIFF Deputy Secretary General M Satyanarayan and club representatives met with Prasar Bharati CEO Gaurav Dwivedi to discuss broadcast partnerships. Discussions also covered the IFL Charter, proposed budgets, and sponsorship packages for the new campaign.
