Indian hip-hop artists Shia and Paradox discuss industry evolution

Indian hip-hop artists Shia and Paradox are making significant strides within the Desi Hip-Hop (DHH) community. Mumbai-based artist Shia has released her new track ‘COD’, a project born from her elimination during a cypher round on the reality show ‘Legacy’. Shia describes the track as a way to turn a professional setback into a statement, noting that the title refers both to video game culture and her ‘call of duty’ to the hip-hop community.

Meanwhile, rapper Paradox has transitioned from a contestant to a mentor on the reality show ‘MTV Hustle 5’. Reflecting on his evolution within the industry, Paradox noted that music has expanded beyond artistic expression to include business and creativity. The current season of ‘MTV Hustle’ features Badshah as the Rap Supremo, alongside squad bosses including Paradox, EPR, MC Square, and Agsy.
