Indian leaders emphasize long-term social welfare and energy policy
At the ‘Swanath Sammelan-2026’ conference, Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra emphasized that true social development is measured by the integration of orphaned children into the mainstream. Mishra stated that every child deserves protection, education, and the opportunity to reach their potential, calling it a collective societal responsibility rather than just an individual or organizational one.
The event was organized by the Vishva Manav Sahayata Parishad in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and the Delhi Government’s Department of Women and Child Development. Mishra noted that achieving a developed India by 2047 requires utilizing the capabilities of all citizens, including those currently lacking family support and security.
Separately, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the World Leaders Forum, arguing that political decisions should prioritize long-term national interests over short-term electoral gains. He highlighted renewable energy initiatives, such as the PM-KUSUM Yojana and the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, as examples of policies designed to provide immediate relief to farmers and households while securing future energy stability. He noted that over 50 lakh families have joined the rooftop solar scheme, supported by more than Rs 22,000 crore in government assistance.
