Indian leaders honor Rani Padmini on Jauhar Divas

Indian political leaders have paid tribute to Rani Padmini and the brave women of Chittorgarh on the occasion of Jauhar Divas. The observance commemorates the historical event on August 26, 1303, when Rani Padmini and approximately 16,000 women committed self-immolation to protect their honor and dignity.

Various officials, including Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and several ministers from Rajasthan and Bihar, shared messages on social media. They described the sacrifice as an eternal symbol of courage, self-respect, and female empowerment in Indian history. BJP leader and Chittorgarh MP C. P. Joshi specifically noted the scale of the historical sacrifice that took place in the sacrificial fire.
