Indian LNG tanker Disha delivers 62,370 mt of gas to Dahej after three‑month Hormuz delay

The LNG carrier Disha, chartered by Petronet LNG Ltd and operated by a Shipping Corporation of India consortium, arrived at the Dahej LNG terminal in Gujarat on 19 June carrying 62,370 metric tonnes of liquefied natural gas from Qatar’s Ras Laffan terminal.

The vessel had been held up for more than three months in the Gulf due to heightened geopolitical tensions and security concerns in the Strait of Hormuz. After the delay, Disha successfully transited the strait and docked at the Dahej terminal at approximately 07:32 local time, securing a critical shipment for India’s energy supply chain.

The safe arrival of the cargo is being viewed as important for India’s LNG import infrastructure and overall energy security, especially as the Hormuz Strait remains a strategic chokepoint for global oil and gas trade.
