Indian military announces new rice initiative and IAF chief's final sortie

The Indian Army has launched ‘Bharat Rice’, a high-quality rice initiative designed to supply troops directly to Army Supply Depots. The program aims to provide operational relief to soldiers in remote and difficult terrains, such as Ladakh and the North East, by bypassing the need to collect rations from local Food Corporation of India (FCI) facilities. During the launch in New Delhi, an MoU was signed between the Indian Army and the FCI to utilize its infrastructure during operational contingencies.

In a separate development, Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A P Singh completed his final fighter jet sortie aboard an indigenous Tejas aircraft. The sortie took place during Exercise Tarang Shakti at the Jodhpur Air Force Station. The multilateral exercise includes participation from several nations, including the US, France, Germany, Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the UAE.
