Indian military marks Surgical Strike Day and Artillery Regiment anniversary

Indian political leaders and military officials have marked significant military milestones. On Surgical Strike Day, various leaders, including Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, paid tribute to the Indian Army for its actions during the 2016 surgical strikes against terrorist camps across the Line of Control.

Additionally, the Indian Army celebrated Gunners Day on September 28, marking the 200th anniversary of the Artillery Regiment's establishment. Army Chief General Dheeraj Seth commended the regiment for its courage, precision, and dedication. The day commemorates the formation of the 5th Bombay Mountain Battery in 1827. The celebration highlighted the regiment's evolution from traditional artillery to modern rocket systems and advanced surveillance technologies.
