Rajnath Singh and Kapil Sibal clash over regime change allegations

Indian political leaders are engaged in a sharp exchange of accusations regarding regime change and political stability. Union Minister Rajnath Singh accused the Congress party and its allies of attempting to engineer a regime change in India similar to the 2024 political upheaval in Bangladesh. Singh alleged that the opposition is using youth-led protests to fuel anarchy and undermine constitutional institutions.

Responding to these claims, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal rejected the notion that the opposition is driving a regime change, asserting instead that it is the public that desires a change in government. Sibal further accused the BJP-led administration of corruption, capturing democratic institutions, and manipulating electoral rolls.

Separately, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath defended his administration's record, stating that a ‘zero tolerance’ policy toward crime over the last nine and a half years has established the rule of law and created a fear-free environment in the state. He criticized opposition rhetoric, arguing that power should be sought through democratic mandates rather than through instability or anarchy.
