The online mock political front called the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was created after Chief Justice Surya Kant’s remarks that likened job‑seeking youngsters to "cockroaches". Within two days of its launch, the party claimed about 40,000 members and a growing presence on Instagram and X.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs Mahua Moitra and Kirti Azad posted on X expressing a desire to join the CJP. Kirti Azad asked, “I would like to join the cockroach janta party. What are the qualifications required?” and Moitra wrote, “I too would like to join the CJP (besides being a card‑carrying member of the Anti‑National Party).” The party’s social‑media account replied with mock‑serious welcomes, calling the MPs “fighters democracy needs.”

CJP describes itself as a satirical voice for “lazy, unemployed, chronically online” youth, while asserting it upholds the Indian Constitution. It has drafted a five‑point agenda for 2029 and continues to attract memes and debate online, but it remains a fringe, humour‑driven movement rather than a formal political organization.
