Indian municipal corporations announce 2026 apprentice recruitment

Municipal corporations in India have announced new apprentice recruitment drives for 2026.

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is seeking trainee apprentices across 18 different trades, including Electrician, Fitter, Wireman, and Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA). The recruitment also includes graduate-level positions for Office Operations Executives and a women-only Office Assistant role. Eligible local candidates can apply online via the national Apprenticeship India portal and the VMC website between 13 August and 25 August 2026.

In Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika (BMC) has announced 612 trade apprentice posts across 18 ITI trades. The recruitment process involves online registration followed by a walk-in recruitment mela held on 20 and 21 August 2026 at the Jamsaheb Mukadam Government ITI. Available roles include Diesel Mechanic, Wireman, Fitter, and Computer Operator, with monthly stipends ranging from approximately ₹17,680 to ₹19,890.
