Indian National Congress Announces Organizational Overhaul in Chandigarh and Goa

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) is undertaking a major restructuring of its state units. In Chandigarh, AICC observer Jagdish Thakor announced a seven‑day consultative drive to gather feedback from party workers and will recommend at least six candidates for each district presidency, with final appointments expected before the end of the month. Thakor also invited local NGOs and resident welfare associations to join discussions on strengthening democratic institutions.

In Goa, the AICC approved a new social‑media team for the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee. Himanshu Tivrekar was named chairperson, with Lincoln Gomes and Ajmal Sayyed as vice‑chairpersons and a roster of coordinators including Sohan Shenai, Macline Fernandes, Prathibha Borkar, Glen Larceda and Armando Ferreira Alvares. The appointments aim to boost the party’s digital outreach and voter engagement ahead of upcoming elections.
