Indian National Congress launches organisational reviews in West Bengal and Goa

The Indian National Congress (INC) has announced two major organisational moves ahead of upcoming state elections. In West Bengal, the party’s central leadership will dispatch All India Congress Committee (AICC) observers to all 32 organisational districts to assess grassroots structures, gather feedback from district leaders, and inform the appointment of district presidents. The exercise follows the 2026 West Bengal Assembly election and a recent change in the party’s state in‑charge, with Prakash Joshi replacing Gulam Mir.

Separately, the INC has formed a six‑member Alliance Committee for Goa, chaired by Manikrao Thakare, to coordinate seat‑adjustment and poll strategy with alliance partners ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly election. The committee includes Girish Chodankar, Yuri Alemao, Anjali Nimbalkar, Capt. Viriato Fernandes and M. K. Shaikh. Both initiatives aim to strengthen the party’s organisational focus and improve electoral performance in the two states.
