Indian Naval Academy employee arrested for using forged documents
A 32-year-old Bangladeshi national, identified as Viplav Soren, has been arrested for working at the highly secure Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala using allegedly forged documents. Soren had been employed in the academy's laundry section for approximately one year.
Authorities state that Soren used a fake Aadhaar card to pose as an Indian citizen and a fraudulent Police Clearance Certificate purportedly issued in West Bengal. The arrest followed confidential intelligence from the Intelligence Bureau. Investigators are currently examining how the individual secured employment and whether the contracting agency failed to conduct proper background and identity verification.
This arrest is part of a broader crackdown in the Kannur district. In the four days preceding this incident, police have detained five other Bangladeshi nationals, including four women found working at a local spa, all of whom were allegedly using forged Indian identity documents.
