Indian Navy leadership emphasizes maritime security and training

Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of the Naval Staff, addressed officers at the Naval War College in Goa during the 39th Naval Higher Command Course and the inaugural Foreign Higher Command Course. He emphasized the Indian Navy’s ongoing transformation to meet evolving maritime security challenges and the necessity of preparing leaders for the changing character of warfare.

Admiral Swaminathan urged officers to focus on core responsibilities while developing capabilities for future integrated operations. He highlighted the importance of professional competence, integrity, and leading by example. The inclusion of the maiden Foreign Higher Command Course provided an international platform for foreign officers to exchange perspectives on India’s maritime security outlook.

Separately, the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala concluded a Short Naval Orientation Course for medical officers. The program focused on leadership development, naval values, and preparing medical personnel for operational environments within the Indian Navy's organizational framework.
