Indian officials arrested in multiple anti-corruption bribery stings

Multiple anti-corruption operations in India have resulted in the arrest of several public officials for bribery.

In Karnataka, Lokayukta officials arrested GST Superintendent Mohit Pratap Singh in Bengaluru while he was allegedly accepting ₹8 lakh from a business owner. The official had reportedly initially demanded ₹20 lakh. In a separate incident in Dharwad, Tehsildar Sachidananda Kuchanur was caught red-handed accepting ₹50 lakh in cash from a developer seeking land record rectifications.

In Telangana, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended two police officials from the Keesara station, including a Sub-Inspector, for allegedly accepting a ₹5 lakh bribe to grant station bail and cease harassment of a complainant.

Additionally, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Chief Health Inspector of the South Eastern Railway in Bokaro, Jharkhand. The official was caught accepting a partial bribe of ₹10,000 to process a medical leave application.
