Indian organizations mark Independence Day with growth milestones

Major Indian organizations, including the Cochin Port Authority and NTPC Kaniha, marked India’s 80th Independence Day with commemorative events and reports of significant operational milestones.

Cochin Port Authority Chairperson Dr. M. Angamuthu announced that the port achieved a record cargo volume of 38.06 million tonnes (MMT) and surpassed a financial turnover of ₹1,000 crore. The authority has set future targets to exceed 40 MMT of cargo this year and reach 50 MMT within the next five years, with a projected financial turnover of ₹1,500–2,000 crore.

At NTPC Kaniha, celebrations included flag hoisting and award ceremonies to recognize employee excellence. The organization also conducted community welfare initiatives, such as distributing kitchen utensils, sanitary items, and bicycles to support local education and social development.
