Indian parties unveil star campaigner rosters for upcoming by‑elections

The Indian National Congress has released a list of 40 senior leaders to act as star campaigners for the Datiya Assembly by‑election in Madhya Pradesh, scheduled for 30 July. The roster includes veteran figures such as Kaml Nath, Digvijay Singh, Jitu Patwari and other regional and national leaders.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has similarly announced a 40‑member star campaigner team for the Bankipur Assembly by‑election in Bihar, also slated for late July. Prominent names on the BJP list include national president Nitin Nirav, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, MP Manoj Tiwari, and several senior ministers and party officials.

Both parties say the deployment of high‑profile leaders is intended to boost voter outreach ahead of the closely watched by‑elections.
