Indian political parties clash over youth protests and election integrity
Political tensions have escalated in India following youth-led protests in Delhi and Maharashtra. BJP MLC Praveen Kumar accused the Congress party and the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) of attempting to spread anarchy. He claimed the movements are driven by specific ideologies fearful of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership rather than representing the genuine voice of the youth.
Conversely, the Congress party has criticized the government and the Election Commission of India, questioning the impartiality of electoral processes. Congress leaders, including State President Shubhankar Sarkar, alleged instances of vote theft and irregularities in recent by-elections. They further criticized the arrest of individuals protesting in Delhi, characterizing such actions as an attempt to suppress voices against injustice.
