Indian power companies announce 2026 apprenticeship recruitments

Major Indian power entities have announced apprenticeship recruitment programs for 2026, offering training opportunities for ITI, diploma, and graduate students.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is seeking 270 apprentices across ten regional establishments. The one-year program includes slots for ITI Electricians, Diploma holders in Electrical and Civil Engineering, and Graduate engineers in Electrical and Civil disciplines. Applications are open from August 25 to September 10, 2026, with monthly stipends ranging from ₹13,500 to ₹17,500.

Additionally, the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station (SGTPS), under Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Company Limited (MPPGCL), has announced 95 ITI apprentice positions. These roles cover various trades, including Electrician, Welder, Computer Operator, Fitter, Turner, Instrument Mechanic, and Electronics Mechanic. This recruitment is restricted to candidates with Madhya Pradesh domicile, with preference given to residents of Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Katni, and Jabalpur districts. The application deadline is September 21, 2026.
