Indian Railways announces mass train cancellations in Bihar and Jharkhand

Major railway construction and interlocking work in Bihar and Jharkhand will cause significant disruptions to train services between September 21 and October 4. In the Danapur and Sonpur divisions, over 50 trains are scheduled for cancellation on various dates to facilitate the doubling of the Rajendra Pul station rail bridge and to strengthen connectivity on the Dinkar Gram Simaria-Barouni section.

Eastern Railway has announced that 18 trains will be cancelled and 10 diverted on the Howrah-Dhanbad route. Specific services, including the Howrah-Bikaner Express, Sealdah-Anand Vihar Sampark Kranti, and several MEMU services, will face cancellations or route changes due to pre-interlocking and interlocking work at Mugma station.

Other affected long-distance services include the Howrah-Patna Superfast Special, Mithilanchal Express, and Tirhut Express. Some trains, such as the Howrah-New Delhi Duronto, will be rerouted via Kiul-Gaya-Grand Chord, while others like the Purva Express will follow an alternative path through Jhajha, Kiul, and Biharsharif.
