Indian Railways announces 102 special trains for festive season

Indian Railways has announced 102 special train trips to manage the anticipated passenger surge during the upcoming Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja festivals. These services aim to improve connectivity between major hubs and provide relief to travelers heading home for the holidays.

Key routes include services through the Solapur Division connecting Mumbai to destinations such as Latur, Kolhapur, and Kalaburagi. Additionally, weekly special trains will operate between Mumbai (CSMT) and Chennai Beach. Central Railway is also deploying one-way special services between Mumbai and Nagpur, as well as Mumbai and Amravati.

In the north, Southern Railway has scheduled a special service between Kanpur Central and SMVT Bengaluru. Other services will connect various cities across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Maharashtra.

Booking for these services began on September 27, 2026, via computerized reservation centers, IRCTC, and the RailOne app. Passengers are advised to verify specific train numbers and dates, as reservation schedules may vary by service.
