Indian Railways Cancels Hundreds of Trains in Bihar and Mumbai for Bridge and Yard Works

From 20 September to 4 October, Indian Railways will cancel 67 long‑distance trains – and an additional 36 on 3 October – while non‑interlocking work connects a new double‑line bridge over the Ganga River at Begusarai in Bihar. The suspension affects services between north and south Bihar, including trains such as the Rourkela‑Jaynagar Express, Udna‑Malda Special, Asansol‑Gorakhpur Express, Kolkata‑Sitamarhi Express, and Ranchi‑Gorakhpur Express.

Separately, between 4 August and 14 August, a special traffic block at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai will see yard, siding and drainage upgrades. During this period the Rani Kamalapati‑LTT Express and Netra Vati‑LTT Express will run only up to Thane station, after which passengers must arrange onward travel. Rail authorities have asked travelers to check revised timetables before departure.
