Indian Railways enhance infrastructure and passenger amenities
Indian railway zones are implementing various infrastructure and maintenance initiatives. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is focusing on strengthening infrastructure and improving passenger amenities across the Northeastern region. General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava recently inspected Sairang Railway Station in Mizoram to review station functionality, safety arrangements, and ongoing development works.
Simultaneously, Eastern Railway (ER) has launched an extensive drive to ensure safe drinking water across its jurisdiction. Between August 20 and September 29, the zone cleaned 7,358 water tanks across the Asansol, Howrah, Malda, and Sealdah divisions. This initiative includes systematic technical testing of water quality at 1,498 locations to meet Railway Board standards for stations, offices, and railway colonies.
