Indian Railways launches Jan Sambad campaigns to improve passenger services
Indian Railway divisions have launched the ‘Jan Sambad’ initiative, a series of public outreach campaigns designed to strengthen communication between railway officials and the public. The program aims to enhance passenger awareness, gather direct feedback on amenities, and encourage participation in maintaining cleanliness across stations.
In the East Coast Railway (ECoR) zone, General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal conducted interactions at Bhubaneswar Railway Station to assess facilities and cleanliness. The campaign included station inspections and a cleanliness drive involving railway staff to promote hygiene and passenger-friendly environments.
Simultaneously, the Mysuru Division implemented the initiative under Special Campaign 6.0. Officials, including Divisional Railway Manager Mudit Mittal, engaged with passengers at Mysuru Railway Station to collect feedback on sanitation and onboard services. During these sessions, passengers also raised concerns regarding the reinstatement of ticket concessions for senior citizens. The campaign also focused on waste management awareness at stations such as Ashokapuram and Shivamogga Town.
