Indian real estate sales and registrations tumble in June and Q1 2026
Residential property registrations in Hyderabad fell 13% year‑on‑year in June, dropping to 5,560 units worth Rs 4,148 crore, a 10% YoY and 30% month‑on‑month decline, according to Knight Frank India. While premium homes above Rs 1 crore made up 22% of registrations, they accounted for 52% of the transaction value. Despite the June slowdown, the city’s H1 registrations rose 5% YoY to 37,992 units, with total value up 6% to Rs 26,400 crore. Knight Frank described the dip as a timing‑led adjustment rather than a shift in market fundamentals.
Prestige Estates Projects Ltd reported a 46% YoY fall in Q1 sales bookings, slipping to Rs 6,579.3 crore from Rs 12,126.4 crore a year earlier. Hyderabad contributed nearly half of the company’s sales, followed by Bengaluru and Mumbai. The firm achieved an average realization of Rs 11,193 per square foot for apartments. Despite the sharp decline, Prestige Estates targets Rs 35,000‑36,000 crore in sales bookings for FY27, building on a record‑high performance in the previous fiscal.
