Indian security forces launch searches after Pakistani drones spotted in Jammu & Kashmir

Security forces in India began extensive search operations in forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) after overnight sightings of suspected Pakistani drones in the Rajouri and Samba districts of Jammu & Kashmir. The army, Border Security Force (BSF) and police carried out searches to ensure no narcotics or weapons had been air‑dropped, but reported no arrests or recoveries.

The drone sightings come amid a recent increase in aerial activity over the region, prompting heightened surveillance and anti‑drone measures in vulnerable border zones such as Samba and Kathua. In a related incident, a 51‑mm mortar shell was found by farmers in Kayan village, Rajouri, and safely destroyed by a bomb‑disposal team without collateral damage.
