Indian states Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh announce major economic targets

At the World Leaders Forum in New Delhi, the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh outlined ambitious economic and industrial development goals for their respective states.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a target to increase the state’s green energy share to 50 percent, up from the current 30 percent of its 31-gigawatt capacity. The state is also expanding its aviation infrastructure, with plans to increase the number of airports from four to ten. Additionally, the government aims to extend export activities from the current 37 districts to all 55 districts within 18 months.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai detailed a vision to foster entrepreneurship, aiming to establish 5,000 startups by 2030. The state is offering seed funding of up to Rs 10 lakh to new entrepreneurs and plans to provide AI training to 6 lakh students. Following recent industrial policy reforms, Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals exceeding Rs 8 lakh crore, with interest expanding into semiconductors, electronics, and green energy.
