Indian states Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh announce major road infrastructure investments

State governments in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have announced significant investments to expand road infrastructure and improve connectivity across their respective regions.

In Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced a project costing over ₹35,107 crore to extend road networks to villages, hamlets, and cities. The initiative aims to connect rural areas to markets, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. Specific allocations include ₹1,257.24 crore for Jhunjhunu, ₹1,044.94 crore for Alwar, and ₹989.28 crore for Jaipur, among other districts.

In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav approved proposals worth ₹10,630 crore for infrastructure, health, and social welfare. A key component involves the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) receiving a state guarantee for a ₹4,600 crore loan from NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance. This funding will support the construction of 12 major routes, including the Bhopal-Vidisha road and the Indore-Depalpur 4-lane route. Additionally, ownership of 22 major roads will be transferred to the MPRDC to facilitate development.
