Indian traveler uses Singaporean bank points for Europe trip

An Indian MBA student from IIM Bangalore successfully completed a first-time European trip to Greece and Central Europe using a combination of cash and Avios points. The traveler, who previously lived and worked in Singapore, utilized rewards points from Singaporean banks, specifically HSBC Singapore and UOB, to facilitate the journey.

The itinerary included a flight from Bengaluru to Athens via Doha on Qatar Airways, utilizing a ‘Cash + Avios’ booking. The return leg involved flying from Bucharest to Doha on Qatar Airways, followed by an IndiGo flight back to Bengaluru. The trip highlights how travelers outside the United States can leverage Southeast Asian banking rewards to access premium airline redemptions.
