Indian Travelers Expand International Beach Destination Interest
Digital travel platform Agoda released data showing a surge in search activity by Indian travelers for international beach destinations during July‑August 2026. While traditional hotspots such as Bali and Phuket remain popular, interest is widening to a broader mix of coastal and island locations across South and Southeast Asia and parts of Europe.
The data highlights growing curiosity in Indonesia’s Lombok, Vietnam’s Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Ha Long, Thailand’s Krabi, Koh Samui and Pattaya, as well as Malaysia’s Langkawi, Penang and the Philippines’ Cebu. Indian travellers are also looking at Sri Lanka’s Trincomalee, Arugam Bay, Mirissa, Galle and Bentota for surf, whale‑watching and cultural experiences. The trend reflects a desire for immersive cultural offerings and varied coastal landscapes.
