Indian women founders amass Rs 1 lakh crore in combined wealth

Seven women founders in India hold a combined personal wealth of nearly Rs 1 lakh crore. This wealth has been solidified through recent stock market listings and the growth of companies in sectors such as software, biotechnology, retail, fintech, and digital payments.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, founder of Biocon, holds a 29.73% stake in the biotechnology firm valued at approximately Rs 19,020 crore as of September 2026. In contrast, Radha Vembu of Zoho Corporation represents a bootstrapped model; while Zoho remains a private company with an estimated valuation of Rs 1.03 lakh crore, Vembu’s 47.8% stake is valued at roughly Rs 49,200 crore.
