Indiana charity events support youth camp and cancer patients
The Salvation Army will hold its third annual “Clays for a Cause” fundraiser on September 25, 2026 at the Indiana Gun Club near Indianapolis. The sporting‑clays competition, emceed by wilderness expert Creek Stewart, aims to raise money for Hidden Falls Camp in Bedford, a 700‑acre facility that provides at‑risk youth with outdoor recreation and STEAM activities. Major Marc Johnson, Divisional Commander for the Salvation Army Indiana Division, said the event “continues to be a great way to raise funds in support of our summer camp programs.”
The 19th annual Battle of the Barbecue takes place on August 5, 2026 in Memorial Park, Lebanon, Indiana. The day‑long event benefits Boone County Cancer Services, offering food, a 5K run, silent‑auction baskets and a barbecue competition. Organizers expect more than 400 participants, with proceeds staying in Boone County to assist local cancer patients and families. Last year’s event drew 6,500 attendees and raised $130,000.
