Indiana Fever aim to extend streak as Sophie Cunningham returns from injury

The Indiana Fever secured a 114-106 overtime victory over the Chicago Sky, improving to 3-1 in the 2026 Commissioner’s Cup and eliminating the Sky from contention. Guard Sophie Cunningham, sidelined with elbow soreness, watched the win from the bench and posted a viral reaction to teammate Myisha Hines‑Allen’s chased‑down block.

Cunningham is set to return for the Fever’s Saturday matchup against the Connecticut Sun. Although her three‑point shooting has slipped to 33% this season, she leads the team in offensive rating, true shooting percentage and effective field goal percentage among players with at least 250 minutes. Her low usage rate makes her a valuable offensive release valve beside stars Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, and coach Stephanie White expects her return to bolster the Fever’s momentum.
