The win was fueled by a dominant offensive performance from the Fever's backcourt, with Kelsey Mitchell scoring 28 points and Caitlin Clark contributing 22 points and 10 assists.

Clark’s participation in the game followed a significant ruling by the WNBA, which rescinded a technical foul assessed during a previous matchup against the Chicago Sky. The rescission prevented an automatic one-game suspension that would have sidelined the star guard. Clark expressed satisfaction with the decision, noting that the league “got it right,” while also suggesting that the WNBA could improve its review process through more resources and the implementation of a replay center.
