Indiana Fever revokes reporter credentials after Caitlin Clark injury story

Longtime Indiana basketball reporter Scott Agness said the WNBA's Indiana Fever withdrew his media credentials after he published a story on star guard Caitlin Clark’s injury status. Agness reported that Clark’s absence from a May 20 game was part of a "strategic management plan" and later added comments from coach Stephanie White that the player was healthy but being cautious with a back issue. The Fever described the reporting as spreading "inaccurate and unsubstantiated information" and revoked his access. The Professional Basketball Writers Association’s WNBA chapter condemned the move, stating it undermines journalists’ ability to cover the league. Agness also noted prior restrictions on his access to the Indiana Pacers, owned by the same group as the Fever, and said he will continue covering both teams despite the credential dispute.
