Indiana man charged with reckless homicide after fatal shooting

Martell Pickens, 30, has been charged with reckless homicide following the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Khadolphee Taylor in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

According to a probable cause affidavit from the Allen Superior Court, the incident occurred on May 7. Pickens reported being woken up around 2:45 a.m. by a suspicious individual in his neighborhood. Pickens alleged that Taylor was attempting to break into various vehicles and his residence. Surveillance footage reportedly showed Taylor attempting to enter the home, which prompted Pickens to confront him outside using a .45 caliber Glock handgun. Taylor was unarmed at the time of the shooting.
