Indiana Pacers announce coaching changes and offensive redesign
The Indiana Pacers are implementing significant changes ahead of the new NBA season, including coaching staff updates and tactical shifts. Former guard Jannero Pargo and player development coach Isaac Yacob have been named assistant coaches, with Pargo also serving as director of player development. Other staff promotions include Martin Tombe, Joel Okafor, and Mike Bron.
Head coach Rick Carlisle revealed that the team has redesigned parts of its offensive system to better utilize center Ivica Zubac. Carlisle described Zubac as “one of the best centers in the league,” noting that his high basketball IQ, physical strength, and passing ability will create a different type of pressure in the paint. Zubac, who joined the team via a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers, is expected to serve as the primary starting center alongside star point guard Tyrese Haliburton.
Additionally, the franchise continues to foster connections between its current roster and franchise legends. Coach Carlisle highlighted the importance of integrating former players like Reggie Miller and Dale Davis into the team culture to mentor the current generation of players.
