Indiana ranks fourth nationally for teen driver safety

Indiana has been ranked fourth in the nation for teen drivers according to a new report from WalletHub. The state tied for first place in categories regarding strong distracted-driving and texting-while-driving laws, as well as its Graduated Driver's Licensing (GDL) program.

Additional high rankings include seventh place for occupant-protection laws and average car repair costs, alongside sixth place for road quality. However, the report notes areas for improvement, specifically ranking 23rd for impaired-driving laws and 27th for the increase in insurance premiums when adding a teenager to a policy.
