Indiana State Fair 2026 opens with new attractions and $2 voter registration drive

The Indiana State Fair began its 2026 season on August 7, running through August 23 under the theme “Always a Hit,” highlighting a partnership with the Indianapolis Indians baseball team. New family‑friendly attractions include a Wiffle Ball Court, Calf Cuddles, a Feed Tortoises encounter, Little Hands on the Farm, and a Rewind Experience showcasing the fair’s history. Facility upgrades feature Gate 6 renovations and an expanded free stage for larger performances. The entertainment schedule offers free concerts, a street‑dance competition, and the Grand Drive livestock show for 4‑H participants.

Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales used the fair to sponsor the $2 Tuesday voter‑registration drives on August 11 and 18, staffing booths throughout the fairgrounds to help Hoosiers register, update, or learn about voting. Morales thanked fair officials, volunteers, first responders, and law‑enforcement officers for ensuring a safe event.
