Indiana voter registration deadline set for October 5

Indiana election officials have announced that the deadline to register to vote or update existing registration for the upcoming 2026 General Election is Monday, October 5.

Eligible residents can manage their registration through the state’s online portal at indianavoters.in.gov. This system allows citizens to register for the first time, verify their current status, confirm polling locations, and update personal details such as legal names or addresses. In-person updates can also be completed at local county clerk offices during regular business hours.

To qualify, individuals must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and have resided in their voting precinct for at least 30 days. Experts recommend that voters, particularly those who have recently moved or have not voted in several years, verify their status early to avoid issues, noting that inactive voters may be removed from rolls after eight years.
