Indianapolis Colts emphasize resilience and revamp wide receiver group in 2025 preseason

Owner and CEO Carlie Irsay‑Gordon addressed the Indianapolis Colts at the start of training camp, urging a “find a way” mantra built on consistency, resilience and mental toughness. She said the roster has the talent, health and quarterback depth needed and that the organization must maintain a culture of belief and urgency after a 2025 season that began 8‑2 before a seven‑game losing streak left the team out of the playoffs for the fifth straight year.

The team is already adjusting its wide receiver room. WR1 Alec Pierce entered camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list after ankle surgery, while veteran Nick Westbrook‑Ikhine and rookie Deion Burks are the only new additions from the offseason. Indianapolis signed undrafted free agent Liam Clifford, worked out veteran Chase Claypool and moved safety Ben Nikkel to receiver. Tight end Tyler Warren is expected to help alleviate the position’s concerns as head coach Shane Steichen plans a committee approach to the WR corps.
