Indianapolis Colts face wide receiver depth issues

The Indianapolis Colts are facing depth issues at wide receiver as Alec Pierce is set to move to injured reserve with a heel injury, which is expected to sideline him for at least four games. This comes amid reports that Keenan Allen may face a suspension of at least three games following an arrest in August. To address these absences, the Colts have signed veteran Darius Slayton.

In other AFC news, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud highlighted the importance of tight end Dalton Schultz. Following the absence of wide receiver Nico Collins in Week 2, Stroud relied heavily on Schultz, who recorded 12 receptions for 140 yards. Stroud noted Schultz’s value in both on-field communication and his role in the team’s development.

Additionally, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen expressed disagreement with a defensive pass interference call involving cornerback Travis Hunter during the team’s Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos, an incident that also resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for Coen.
