Indianapolis Colts show discipline and offensive strength through Week 3

Through the first three weeks of the NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts have demonstrated significant discipline regarding penalties. The team has committed only 15 accepted penalties for 100 yards, tying for the third-fewest accepted penalties in the league and averaging approximately 33 penalty yards per game. This avoidance of major mistakes, such as holding or unnecessary roughness, has been critical in close contests, including a narrow overtime loss to Kansas City and a 19-17 victory over Houston.

On the offensive side, running back Jonathan Taylor remains a primary threat, recording 325 total yards and four touchdowns. The team's run-blocking unit has also proven effective, ranking sixth in PFF run-blocking grade. While the offense shows strength in its ground game and the development of wide receiver Josh Downs, defensive weaknesses have limited the team's margin for error, leaving them with a 1-2 record.
