Indianapolis Colts stick with Daniel Jones despite 2-5 start
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen has confirmed that Daniel Jones will remain the starting quarterback despite the team's 2-5 record and a third consecutive loss. Jones currently holds the lowest passer rating among NFL quarterbacks with seven or more starts, completing 59.6 percent of his passes and throwing seven interceptions through seven games.
The team's recent 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings highlighted offensive struggles, with Jones throwing for 108 yards and an interception on the final drive. Steichen noted that while Jones needs to improve, he maintains faith in the quarterback's ability to perform, citing his recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon.
On the defensive side, cornerback Justin Walley earned high marks for his coverage before leaving the game with an injury. Offensive tackle Bernhard Raimann also saw positive performance metrics, recording a high pass-blocking grade during the matchup.
